Alfredo “Fred” Tijerina passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the age of 60 in Laredo, Texas. Fred was a devoted family man, an amazing father, proud grandfather, loving son, caring brother, and loyal friend. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and had a heart as big as his personality. He was a proud graduate of Martin High School and an accomplished athlete, excelling in football, basketball, and baseball.
Fred had a deep love for cooking and was affectionately known as the family’s “Pit Master,” often bringing everyone together with his delicious meals. His warm, social spirit made him the life of every gathering, and his laughter and stories will be dearly missed.
A passionate sports fanatic, Fred was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. Whether cheering them on with family or talking sports with friends.
Fred’s legacy of love, generosity, and joy will continue to live on in all those whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his sister Isela Sandoval.
Fred is survived by his children Nick (Alejandra) Tijerina, Rebecca Tijerina, and Mark (Rachelle) Speer, mother Consuelo Salinas, father Tito (Aminta) Tijerina, brothers Wicho (Tammy) Tijerina, Tito Tijerina, Gabriel (Terry) Tijerina, and his sister Dorita (Ray) Resendez. He is also survived by grandchildren Selena Rose Tijerina, Maximo Thunder Tijerina, Marcel Speer, Alden Speer, Rafael Speer, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Nick Tijerina, Andy Tijerina, Chris Tijerina, Joel Aleman, Mark Speer, Justin Tijerina, and Joey Tijerina.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at of Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, Texas 78041. A prayer service and eulogy will be held at 7:00 p.m.
A chapel service will be held Friday, May 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, Texas 78041.
Interment will follow at the family plot in the Laredo City Cemetery.
