Arturo Rangel

November 25, 1932 — June 4, 2023

Arturo Rangel, 90, was called to his eternal resting place on Sunday, June 4, 2023.
He entered this world on November 25, 1932, born to Luciano and Beatriz Rangel in Laredo, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Irma Marta San Miguel, who were married on January 15, 1956, and celebrated over 50 years of marriage until her death in 2015. He entered the call of duty and served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. His service to his nation will forever be recognized and appreciated. He loved music and his fingers effortlessly strummed the guitar. He enjoyed playing classic Mexican songs and any song from Johnny Cash. He and his beloved wife, Irma, would twirl and sway on the dance floor, their steps always in perfect harmony. Arturo had a deep admiration for the legendary actors John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. He found entertainment, inspiration, and a connection to the enduring values he held dear. He was an avid supporter of the Chicago Cubs. He cheered for his team with unmatched enthusiasm and was loyal to the cubbies riding the highs and lows of each season. He was beyond happy when the Cubs won the 2016 World Series.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Robert (Leti), Alejandro (Isabel), Martha Cantu (Mauricio+), Ricardo (Adela), and Fred. His grandchildren, Michelle, Alex, Raul, David, Lorena, Ruben, Jessica, Rick, and Kevin. His 3 great-grandchildren, Aaron, Mia, and Nick. He is also survived by his sister, Beatriz Bernal, whom he always lovingly thought of. His loving cousin, Santiago (Maria) San Miguel.  He is also survived by other loving relatives and friends. The family would like to give their utmost gratitude to his caregivers, Elena Vasquez and Isabel Rangel, for their excellent care, attention and service they provided to Arturo. The family would also like to thank Dr. Sergio Franco for his care and attention.
Rest in peace Arturo, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
The family would like to thank the Laredo Veterans Honor Guard for assisting with the Military Honors.
