Service Details

A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, June 12, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at San Francisco Javier Catholic Church, 2502 Zaragoza St., Laredo, Texas 78040. A Rosary will be held at 9:00 a.m.

Inurnment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In remembrance of Berta, flowers and/or memorial contributions may be sent to San Francisco Javier Catholic Church or St. Peter The Apostle Church.


Ms. Berta B. Ramirez entered into Eternal Glory Friday, June 2, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 87 in Laredo, Texas.

Berta was born in Hebbronville, Texas, the firstborn of Rafael Ramirez, Sr. and Adelaida Ramirez where she grew up with her parents and brothers.  Graduated from Laredo Martin High School in Laredo, Texas.

Berta was loving, witty, and always quick to lend a helping hand or provide comfort and advice to family and friends.  She adored her family, friends, and her beloved pets. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart; she loved them dearly and was very proud to be called “Mom”.  Berta’s legacy is centered around her family and friends as well as extended church family/friends from St. Peter The Apostle Church where she worked for over 10 years.  She had a passion of volunteering in different church ministries, outreach, the food pantry, in addition to ministries in Dallas, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rafael and Adelaida Ramirez, her loving daughter Patricia Adriana Perez, brothers Javier and Tomas Ramirez, and cousin Anabella Ramirez Wright.

Ms. Ramirez is survived by her beloved daughter Jodie Marie Sandel and loving grandsons Lorne and Nathan Valls.  She is also survived by brothers Manolo (Sylvia) Ramirez and Jorge (Marie) Ramirez, sister-in-law Marianela Ramirez, cousin Rosa “Rosita” Ramirez, and numerous nieces and nephews.
