Obituary
Mr. Deason Cates passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his side on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the age of 90 in Laredo, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Cates and his parents Wilmer and Annie Cates.
Mr. Cates is survived by his sons Robert (Adriana) Cates and Scott (Paty) Cates. He is also survived by his grandchildren Bobby Cates, Kalie Ann Cates, and other numerous relatives.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. A chapel service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 1000 a.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
