Obituary

On January 2, 2021, Elsa Laura Valenciano, 67, was welcomed by our Lord into his heavenly kingdom.

Elsa will be truly and deeply missed by so many of her relatives, friends, and many others that had the pleasure of knowing and meeting her. For years, Elsa took great pride in caring for her loved ones. Elsa always ensured that the people in her life were always cared for. She spent years dedicating her life to taking care of her mother Petra Jaime, until she passed away, followed by the caring of her husband Eduardo Valenciano through his illness. Elsa was devoted to Eddie and her love for him met no end. She took care of him and was by his side until his last breath.

Elsa’s love and heart were unconditional for those she loved. She was always thinking of others and welcomed anyone into her home. She was extraverted and hilarious. Her contagious smile and laughter brightened up anyone’s day. After the passing of her husband, she worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant at Retama Manor Nursing Center West. She was always known for her hard work and dedication to her patients. She brought comfort to so many and made sure that they always received more than adequate care and treatment. Elsa’s warmth was always felt by the residents as well as her coworkers. She was always a shoulder to cry on and very nurturing with both residents and staff members.

As a mother, Elsa’s love was unequivocal. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was always her priority and was always the reason for her to always keep going no matter what obstacle life threw her way. She spent hours in her kitchen always making delicious food that within the first bite, one could taste all the love that went into its preparation. As a grandmother, her heart grew even bigger. She loved the time she got to spend with her grandkids. She loved being the one to give them their first baths, spending quality time with them, especially cooking for them.

She is preceded in death by parents: Eufracio Jaime Sr. and Petra Jaime; husband: Eduardo Valenciano; siblings: Eufracio Jr, Javier, Delia, Alicia, Heriberto, Enrique, Guadalupe, and Estela.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Monica Molina (Joe), Laura Valenciano (Joel), Cynthia Valenciano (Juan) and Lori Arredondo (Juan); grandchildren children: Danny, Tony, Eddie, Andy, Joey, Sammy, Amber, Jayden, Joel, Amelie, and Alessandra; siblings: Sylvia Gomez (Daniel), Eduardo Jaime (Gonzala), Gloria Mauricio (Pete), Hilda Eisele, Ricardo Jaime (Ana), and Jose Alberto Jaime (Blanca) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elsa was married to my cousin Eddie Valenciano. When we went to the Valenciano cleaners Eddie was up front attending and Elsa was in the back sewing all the time. We felt close to her. She was a friendly and kind person. The last time we visited her was about three years ago. My brother and my sister Licha were happy to see her. As always she was very friendly and offered sweets and coffee we had a good visit but unfortunately we didn’t see her again. Elsa will always be in our hearts. We will pray 🙏 for her. May she rest in peace.
