Ernesto Alonzo Amaro

Ernesto “Neto” Amaro, 44, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in Uvalde, TX. Born in Laredo, Texas, Ernesto was known for his personality, sharp sense of humor, and natural ability to connect with others, always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Ernesto’s outgoing spirit made him a true social butterfly – he never met a stranger and always had a story, joke, or a kind word to share. His laughter was contagious, and his presence brought joy to those around him. He was a talented artist who loved to draw on his free time.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Hilda Acosta, his grandparents, Severo Acosta and Oralia Acosta, and his brother/cousin, Reyes Medina, Jr.

Ernesto is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Hernandez-Amaro, of 6 years, his children, Lexie Amaro, Joaquin Hernandez, Jacqueline Hernandez, and Jayden Hernandez. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, Severo E. (Ninfa) Acosta Jr., Ana L. (Richard) Marquez, Maria E. (Rene) Rodriguez, Diana A. (Javier V.) Gomez, Luis A. (Richard) Acosta, Elsa P. Acosta, Rosa I. (Alberto Garcia) Acosta, Dyna E. Acosta, Gabriela C. Acosta, numerous cousins, Cristina Gomez, and Alejandra Escobar, as well as other family members and Friends that will greatly miss him.

Pallbearers will be Javier V. Gomez, Cristina A. Gomez, Rey A. Medina, Luis Acosta, Severo E. Acosta, Elsa Acosta, Roli Ramos, and Armando Rodriguez.
