Fernando Antonio Fox Sanchez, 74, of Laredo, Texas, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023. He was born on September 13, 1949, in Mexico City, Mexico to Ofelia Sanchez and Cutberto Claudio Fox.
Antonio, known to his daughters and grandchildren as “Papi”, was a free spirit who lived life according to his own playbook. He was handsome, smart, witty, and charming and had a chuckle that could light up a room. He could fix just about anything and frequently serenated family and friends with his guitar. He also made the best enchiladas and tomatillo salsa.
One of the things that Antonio was known for was his love for animals. He regularly had one of several dogs, cats, turtles, or parrots by his side. Often rescued from bad situations.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Lupe, and his brother Claudio.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Amber Fox Young (Brent), and Cristal Fox (Lori), and his grandchildren, Willow Fox Young, Dexter, and Lorena Fox, all of Louisville, Kentucky. He also leaves behind his sisters, Ofelia, Margarita, Xochitl, and Isabel, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made through donations to your local animal shelter or rescue. Alternatively, donations can be made to Catheads Kitty Rescue, a rescue near and dear to his daughters’ hearts, at P.O. Box 329, Prospect, Kentucky 40059 or @catheadskittyrescue via Venmo.
