Ms. Gloria Leyva Ortega passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023, at the age of 80 in Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents who raised her as their own Manuel Leyva and Maria Hernandez De Leyva, parents Juan Francisco Leyva and Paubla Ortega De Leyva, brothers Manuel Leyva Sr., Jose De Dios Leyva, Juan Francisco Leyva, Jose De La Luz Leyva, and her sister Ana Maria Leyva.
Ms. Leyva Ortega is survived by her sons Juan De Dios Alvarado and Felipe (Maria Verónica) Alvarado, grandchildren Juan De Dios Alvarado (Alyssa Gallegos), Ileana Ruby Alvarado, Kassandra Ruby Alvarado, and her great-grandson Aiden Elijah Alvarado. She is also survived by her sister Maria Zenona Leyva Hernandez, her beloved companion Chispita, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.Visitation will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Julio Patiño.
A chapel service will be held Friday, September 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041.
Interment will follow at the family plot in the Laredo City Cemetery.
