He was preceded in death by his father Jose Raul Castro, and his brothers Juan Ramon and Ramiro Castro.

Jose Raul is survived by his loving mother Rosa V. Castro, girlfriend Isabel Lopez, brothers, and sisters Bertha A. Castro (Sergio Castro), Maricela Galvan (+Salvador Galvan), Rosa M. Vasquez (Juan Jose Vasquez), Roberto Castro (Rocio Castro), Juanita Castro (José Rogelio Luna), Guillermo Castro (Rosa Castro), Julio A Castro (Alyssa Castro), and Juan V. Castro (Leonor Castro). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
