Leticia Nora Valdez

January 7, 1970 — March 17, 2024

Laredo

Leticia (Leti) Nora Valdez, 54, of Laredo, Texas beloved daughter, friend, and sister joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on March 17, 2024. She was born on January 7, 1970, to Javier Valdez and Alicia Cervera Valdez.

Leti was a proud graduate of J.W. Nixon High School and prior to moving to Colorado, she worked for Price Construction and Aero Center.  As a young professional, Leti attended Metropolitan State College of Denver and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice.  She worked in various roles in the airline industry for over 12 years in Denver, Colorado and for the Catholic Diocese of Laredo as an Outreach & Training Coordinator for nearly 10 years.  Most recently she was a remote human resources employee for Foundever.

On a personal level, Leti was a deeply spiritual person who sought the Lord’s strength and peace on a daily basis.  She loved her church, family, community and friends.  She was a regular lector at San Martin De Porres Church in Laredo, Texas and enjoyed spending time with her faith community and the many close friends she called her sisters in Christ. If you had the pleasure of knowing Leti, then you experienced her giggles, her hugs, her love and smiles that brightened every day.  She was a vibrant, positive and caring person who had a special way of making everyone she knew laugh and smile.  She was beautiful inside and out and her vivacity and joy will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, Javier Valdez.  Left to cherish her memory are her Mother, Alicia Cervera Valdez, her siblings, Norma Valdez, Javier Valdez Jr. (Andrea Valdez), Eddie Valdez  (Michelle Valdez), Laura Stoner (Greg Stoner), George Valdez (Divina Valdez), and her nieces and nephews Sage Stoner, Taj Stoner, Emma Valdez, Penelope Valdez, Diego Valdez, Estella Valdez, Cruz Valdez, and Olivia Valdez.

A memorial mass will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 10:30am at San Martin De Porres Church located at 1704 Sandman St, Laredo, TX  78041.  A Celebration of Leti’s Life will be held immediately afterwards at the Family Life Center.

A private Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
