A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. from Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for a Holy Mass at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Obituary

Mrs. Maria Leonor Castro de Contreras passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the age of 64 in Laredo, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father Eleuterio Castro, and her brothers Hermeregildo Castro and Domingo Castro.

Mrs. Castro de Contreras is survived by her beloved husband Roberto Contreras Jr., her loving children Monica Diaz (Oscar Rosas), Ricardo Castro, Ofelia Contreras (Jose Hernandez), Gabriela Contreras (Jose Beltran), Roberto (Leslie) Contreras III, and Guadalupe (Alberto) Herrera. She is also survived by her mother Maria Florentina Castro, 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters Francisca (Juan) Gonzalez, Justina (Martin) Monzon, Rosalinda (Elizardo) Brewster, Santiago (Helen) Castro, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
