Oscar Roberto Sanchez, 77, loving father, and grandfather, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, in Laredo, Texas.
Oscar was a graduate of Martin High School, Class of 1961. He enjoyed all sports, his favorite being baseball, and was a big fan of the New York Yankees, his ideal team. He was also fond of fishing, billiard, bowling, and listening to music.
In 1964, Oscar started working at Hachar’s Department Store, where he was the buyer for the Lingerie Department. Later, when Hachar’s opened their Annex store, he became the store manager until his retirement in 1972. He then joined the family business, M & S Candy Company, until his retirement in 2018.
Mr. Sanchez is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco C. and Diamantina Moreno Sanchez, and sister Diamantina (Tina) Cruz.
Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Sara Alicia (Jose Ruben, Jr.) Sandoval and Ricardo Javier (Vanette Ortegon) Sanchez; grandchildren Jose Ruben III (J.R.), Jaime Roberto, and Aryana Rochelle Sandoval, and Sabrina Sanchez.
He is also survived by his siblings, Mirna Nora Sanchez, Diana (Humberto †) Villarreal, Francisco Javier (Hilda †) Sanchez, Sandra (Jorge †) Jimenez, Gabriel (Nora) Sanchez; brother-in-law, Guillermo A. Cruz.
