Service Details

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.

A chapel service will be held Friday, November 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041.

Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In accordance with CDC safety precautions, we ask everyone attending funeral services to wear a mask and practice social distancing. There will be limited seating for services. For everyone’s safety please honor the family from a distance. We kindly thank you in advance.

Obituary

Ricardo ‘Richard’ Alonzo passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020, in Laredo, Texas.

Graduated from J.W. Nixon High School and later Texas A&M University, Ricardo led a successful career as a civil engineer, master electrician, and rancher. He was a loving son who loved his family deeply. He frequently gave advice to his nieces and nephews.

Ricardo was a religious person who financially supported organizations such as St. Jude’s Research Hospital. He also enjoyed watching Texas A&M football games, ranching, and hunting white tail deer.

Ricardo was preceded in death by his father, Roberto R. Alonzo.

He is survived by his mother, Felícitas Alonzo; daughter, Liliana (Kingsley) Coppinger; son, Christopher Alonzo; sisters, María Elena (Matias) Garcia, Irma Estela (Ricardo) Hidalgo, Rosalinda (Lauro) Salinas, Maricela Dickinson, Diana (Eric) Tiemeyer; brothers, Hector Alonzo, Roberto R. Alonzo, Jr., and Alberto Alonzo. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
