Roberto Meléndez entered into his eternal glory on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the age of 40 in Laredo, Texas.                  

Roberto was preceded in death by his mother Minerva Meléndez, sisters Roxanne and Jessica Garcia, nephew Emmanuel Espinoza, and his grandmother Minerva Melendez.  

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Armandina Meléndez, children Roberto Meléndez Jr., Lizette Minerva Meléndez, stepchildren Rolando Palos, Emily Palos, and Jayden Bates, father Roberto Espinoza, brothers, and sisters Ana Maria (Eduardo Reyes), Mayra Garcia (Juan Reyes), Juan Andres Meléndez, Felix Antonio Garcia (Janette Rangel), and Alejandro Espinoza, stepbrother Roberto (Jessica) Espinoza Jr., and his stepsisters Mariana (Jose Alfredo) Jimenez, and Cristina Espinoza. He is also survived by his grandfather Juan Meléndez, numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives, and many friends.    

Pallbearers will be Rolando Palos, Jayden Bates, Roberto Espinoza, Roberto Meléndez Jr., Adán Cadena, Marcos Cadena, Feliz Garcia, and David Nenque.

A vigil to commemorate Roberto’s life will be celebrated from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of The Most Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, Texas 78041.

Funeral procession will depart at 9:30 am on Friday, February 2, 2024, from Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium for a Holy Mass at 10:00 am at Santo Niño Mission Catholic Church whose celebrant will be Fr. Joel Perez.

Interment will follow at the family plot in the Laredo City Cemetery.
