Al Sr. Montoya le sobreviven su querida esposa, Heiser M. Chávez, sus hijos, Brithany Montoya, Brannia Montoya, Belky Montoya, y sus padres, Rubén Montoya y Mirta Valenzuela. También le sobreviven sus hermanos y hermana, Héctor Montoya, Fernanda Montoya, Carlos Montoya, numerosos familiares y muchos amigos.
